What is your favourite type of music?
The 70’s. I used to spend hours at the local fairground sat on my bicycle watching the dodgems and waltzers just listening to the likes of Harold Melvin, The Chi Lites and The Drifters. Although I do love a bit of Dua Lipa when washing up!

If you could interview one person, who would it be?

What is your favourite thing about Ayrshire?
Turnberry beach. Such a beautiful secluded location. No day is ever the same

Where is the nicest place you've visited?
Sri Lanka

What is you dream job?
Holiday Rep. In Sri Lanka!

If you could retire tomorrow, what would you do?
Take my wife and our mini dashund on a long journey in our camper van

Where is the last place you went on holiday?
Denmark

What cheers you up?

Maverick our mini daschund. On me coming home from work that’s his playtime. Queue mass pandemonium in the kitchen for 30 minutes!

Have you ever met anyone famous?
Ralph Lauren. In a lift at my cousins apartment block in New York City. I asked his name and what he did. ‘Ralph. I work in retail.’ My cousin still laughs. I had no idea who the multi billion dollar retailer was !

What is your favourite thing to spend money on?
Travel

If you could learn something new what would it be?
Piano

What do/did you do for a living?
I’ve worked in Retail for 34 years

I can do both

A nice glass of red wine

Fish

Tell us something unusual that we won't know about you?
I lived and worked in Kuwait for 3 years. I learnt to be a barista with Starbucks. Loved every minute. I miss the region a lot. Fabulous memories

Who is your hero?
My dad. Johnny Sherry. Left this world far too early, aged 72, after fighting Motor Neurone Disease

Do you have any hobbies?
I love football and golf and run (slowly) in half and full marathons to raise money for my father’s charity MNDA.
